Jinko ESS Enables Smarter Energy Management for Australian Schools
2026.02.24

Jinko ESS, a global leader in energy storage and a subsidiary of JinkoSolar Co., Ltd., has recently empowered a local school in Australia with an upgraded energy storage system that has been successfully commissioned, supporting the education sector in achieving smarter, more cost-effective and efficient energy use. The project replaces an outdated lead-acid battery system installed in 2016, and is designed to support daily demand management, improve energy reliability, and reduce the school’s operational electricity costs. The project was delivered and commissioned by Jinko ESS’s local team in Australia, providing strong on-site support to ensure reliable execution and ongoing service.

The school’s legacy system was fully upgraded to the new-generation SunGiga energy storage system, which not only enhances system reliability and operational efficiency but also allows for future scalability. As energy demand grows, additional SunGiga units can be added to enable future expansion. This flexible, long-term energy solution can readily adapt to the evolving needs of educational facilities without requiring major infrastructure changes.

The system was commissioned on 29 January 2026 and has been fully operational since installation. Through optimised demand management and improved energy utilisation, it has already delivered measurable savings on the school’s electricity bills. This project demonstrates how Jinko ESS’s solutions can help educational institutions enhance energy resilience, manage operating costs, and transition towards smarter and more sustainable energy usage.
